Carefully selecting wineries by the best way we know, visiting and tasting the wines, we invite you to visit a few of our favorites on line.
We are proud to link you to some wonderful wines and wine makers.
One of our favorites is the Paradisos del Sol winery in Zillah. Read Paul's story and see the farm that Paul and Barbara have so lovingly turned into a special place for visitors and you'll feel as at home as you did when you visited Grandma's as a child. The best part? The wines are delicious. They have a killer Rose. There's also a newsletter to sign up for with on going specials that can actually be delivered to the West side by Barbara herself. Visit them at www.paradisosdelsol.com.
Two Mountain Winery is a kind of love story. After the death of the creator of the winery, Ron Schmidt, Matt Rawn, his nephew and Matt's brother took on the orchard, turning it into Ron's dream. It is now one of the best wineries in the valley. Our group especially loved the Reisling, bringing home bottles of it to drink, share and auction at a charity auction, where it quickly went to very high bidders. Our wine professor extraorinaire, Chris Brandmeir, highly recommends the wines from the Harbinger Winery. Run by two serendipidous ladies, this vineyard is fun, comfortable and best yet, has great wines. On one of our trips around the wineries of Washington, we'll share with you why we love the wines from these two women's expertise. We are especially fond of Blackberry Bliss and Red Dynamo, a blend of syrah, cab and merlot. And, they have a great wine club! Visit them at www.harbingerwinery.com.
If you are in the mood for some local wine shops, we recommend a couple that have knowledgable owners and staff, great prices and a good selection. Ric and Diane Jacobson own a shop with a great selection. But, upon my request for a wine that Ric didn't carry, he promptly offered to order it for me and at an very reasonable price. Be sure to stop by Corky Cellars if you are in the Des Moines neighborhood, especially on Friday from 5-7PM. And, join their wine club for additional discounts and values. visit them at www.corkycellars.com
Stay tuned and keep checking. We are adding more opportunities for you every day.
